Nicky Shaw

With over 30 years of professional experience in education and care, Nicky Shaw has a wealth of expertise supporting children and young people's wellbeing with a focus on emotional intelligence, empathic interactions and compassionate care.

Nicky's work spans the UK, with notable consultancy clients such as the Educational Institute of Scotland, Emotion Coaching UK, Oldham Council, Shetland Isles Council, Brighton and Hove City
Council, Glasgow City Council,  and various further education colleges, schools and nurseries.

Nicky's passion for emotional wellbeing extends to her leadership role as the Scottish Emotion Coaching Interest Group Lead and as a practitioner trainer for Emotion Coaching UK. Her academic credentials include an MEd in Early Years Pedagogy, PGCE in Early Childhood Education and a BA in Sociology and
Psychology.

Amanda Carpenter

Amanda is a Psychotherapist, Group Analyst and Children’s and Families Senior social worker with over 30 years of
experience of working within local authorities Social Services and CAMHS, (Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services).


Amanda has worked within specialist therapeutic residential settings for children and young people and managed services for Children in Care, Adoption and Post Adoption support, Young People leaving Care and Children and Young People who have experienced sexual trauma and abuse (STARS) and Children and Young People displaying Harmful Sexual Behaviours (ACT).


Amanda is a senior psychotherapist with The Therapeutic Fostering Team, a specialist trauma informed provision which supports children, young people and those caring for them (Kent Social Services, Fostering).

Amanda currently lectures on the foundation, diploma and qualifying courses attachment seminars at the Institute of Group Analysis,  London and previously at Birkbeck University London.

Ian Stewart

Professional mountaineering instructor, ultra runner and coach,

Ian has spent 20 years helping clients achieve their goals in a variety of adventure sports and environments.

 

Ian’s coaching philosophy is that everyone can find their own version of high performance with the right support. Challenge should be a positive experience, building up not breaking down, using a holistic approach to physical and mental wellbeing.

 

Ian has completed a wide range of ultra endurance events including 5 major 24 hour mountain ‘rounds’ and multi day races including the Cape Wrath Ultra, Dragons Back Race and Tor de Geants. 

Ian is the founder and owner of Trail Running Scotland and is the Race Director for Ourea Events.
